Athletics

The mission of the Delaware Tech Athletic Department is to provide a comprehensive support program for all student-athletes that promotes academic success, a positive athletic experience, and overall personal growth. Student-athletes are encouraged to strive for academic excellence. Athletics staff members work closely with coaches, staff, faculty, and members of the Student Affairs division to help student-athletes balance the demands of athletics and academics and make sure they are on the path toward the completion of a degree and graduation.

Delaware Technical Community College competes in Region XIX of the National Junior College Athletic Association in the following sports: baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, cross country, lacrosse, softball, and women's volleyball. Delaware Tech is also a member of the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference within Region XIX, providing the opportunity to compete in conference-level championship tournaments.

Delaware Tech has experienced tremendous success in athletics over the years, including multiple teams winning region and district championships, and several athletes earning All-Region, All-American, and All-Academic honors.

Students attending Delaware Tech can apply to play a sport at any campus and are not limited to the campus they are attending. Delaware Tech’s athletics departments operate under the guidance of the Dean of Student Affairs offices, and follows all bylaws and regulations established by the NJCAA and Region XIX. Students interested in athletic participation must meet NJCAA eligibility requirements.

This year's women's volleyball team will be led by a new coaching staff as Leigh DeSantis takes over as head coach and Sydney Armbrister joins the program as assistant coach. DeSantis served as assistant coach since 2020.

After two successful years as a member of Delaware Technical Community College's baseball team, pitcher Brandon Schlabach is transferring to Maryville College in Maryville, Tenn. to join the Maryville Scots baseball team and major in business management.

Delaware Tech's Men's Lacrosse Team Wins 2022 NJCAA Region 19 Championship
After playing at the club level in 2019 due to low numbers and not playing at all in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Delaware Technical Community College's men's lacrosse team returned to prominence on April 29 when it defeated Union County Community College 20-5 to win the 2022 NJCAA Region 1
